I am from a small town in the lakes region of Minnesota called Ottertail. I knew that I always wanted to work in the medical field and I first thought that I would become an MD. I even became a CNA for a brief time until I realized this was not the fit for me. I began shadowing my local veterinarian and immediately fell in love with the career. I loved working with clients, the medicine, and especially the patients.
I went to my undergraduate at Concordia College Moorhead, MN, where I majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. From there, I went on to Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine where I graduated with honors in 2023. I own two pets with my amazing wife Anna; a sweet Terrier-mix named Penny and a handsome tuxedo cat named George.
During my free time, I love to spend time with my wife, go on walks with my dog, hiking, water-skiing, and overall being physically active.
One fun fact about myself is that I started my cross-country team at my high school in New York Mills, MN.
My personal interests in veterinary medicine include surgery and internal medicine. However, I strive to make myself a better veterinarian every day. One of the things I love about veterinary medicine is how one is always learning and you are always working toward being the best doctor you can be.
