Exam Room Assistant

We are seeking a long-term, full-time Exam Room/Appointment Assistant to add to our team. Candidate must be comfortable handling all species (ex. snakes, birds, dogs, cats, small mammals). Must be able to consistently lift 50 pounds and be able to consistently kneel or bend. Computer skills are required in order to successfully pass the introductory training period. This position is crucial in supporting our mission to provide the highest quality veterinary care for our patients and the best possible service to our clients while minimizing stress and anxiety.

This position is not intended to be a stepping stone or foot-in-the-door for veterinary medicine. We are looking for a long-term hire. Experience preferred but not required.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Gentle control of patients using the proper technique and Fear Free methods for veterinarian and/or technician to provide care.
  • Educating clients about caring for their pets.
  • Entering charges into the computer.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must display compassion for all animals and provide excellent client/patient service.
  • Light cleaning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must be available to work during business hours (Mon-Fri 7:30AM-5:30PM). Average weekly hours scheduled is approximately 36 hours. Wage will depend on experience.

Kennel Assistant

We are seeking a full-time and/or a part-time kennel assistant/animal care attendant to add to our team. Candidate must be an animal lover and be comfortable around all species (ex. cats, dogs, snakes, birds, small mammals, etc.). Successful completion of our training program is required after the introductory period. Consistent lifting of 50 pounds and consistent bending/kneeling is required.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

-Effective gentle control of animals using Fear Free methods to allow veterinarians and technicians to provide care.

– Observe animal appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness, disease and discontent.

-Walk hospitalized dogs several times a day to provide exercise and time for elimination of bowels and bladder.

-Provide care for animals housed/visiting the Hospital. Report signs of illness, disease, injury or unusual activity to veterinarians and/or technicians.

-Clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels and common areas.

-Stock bags and cases of pet foods.

-Must be empathetic and have great interpersonal skills.

-Discharge patients when ready to go home.

-Other duties as assigned.

Wage will depend on experience.

Full-time candidate must be available to work Monday-Friday 7:30am-6pm and Saturdays 8:30am-1pm. Scheduled hours will be approximately 35-40 hours/week.

Part-time candidate will have flexible hours to accommodate school schedules, etc.
